I am on a break from much in the way of men’s activism whilst I research and gather more material for some new films.
So this is just a short one to heap copious praise on a consummate MRA and one of the best comedians around right now – Bill Burr.
I liked this guy’s comedy from some time ago, before I really twigged he was an MRA and that attests to the quality of his work and delivery. He sends fantastic messages, is very supportive of men, he understands the reality of misandry and institutional bias against men, and his analysis of women and female behaviour is exceptionally accurate.
He gives no quarter when describing what he sees in female behaviour and this is best exemplified by his video on the heinous Kobe Bryant divorce settlement and also his podcast on divorce.
I’ve enjoyed all his stand-up routines and many of his podcasts, but the video that led directly to this article was his analysis of the McDonalds Beat-down. It is second-to-none, razor-sharp delivery and I laughed out loud on the first, second and third listen. And when I’m done writing this, I think I’ll watch it again.
If you’re not into Bill Burr, get into him now. Support his stand-up, subscribe to his podcast, buy whatever shit he’s selling, dye your hair red in homage – do what you’ve got to do to support this all-too-rare species of man: the MRA.
And even more than that, an MRA in full effect and in the public eye, who is funny as hell and getting better all the time.
The MRM has a genuine hero on the front line, and his name is Bill Burr.
Update
And more from Bill Burr on divorce – this guy is just too good.

I’ve got his CD and two DVDs. The guy is a laugh riot. If he were any funnier, the Surgeon General would put out a warning on him. White/Male/Irish/Angry seems to be the formula for him.
If it weren’t for diseases, I’d be ordering hookers like fuckin’ Domino’s.
he’s too OTT. His work effectively supports the war on men, simply because he plays the game of men vs women, deepening the rift between the sexes. TPTB want men to go to war with women, he’s played right into their hands in this respect.
Nope. He’s quite restrained in my opinion. That’s the only way it could work anyway on the topic of men and women.
He has to navigate a difficult course to discuss truths that could easily make men switch-off but instead, gets them thinking and laughing.
TPTB don’t want men to “go to war with women”, that’s impossible (have you ever taken even a brief look at male psychology?). What they want is for women to war on men, and that’s already been accomplished.
Bill Burr is an expert at working with what there is of male psychology and externalising it. Without going into a morass of detail, what he does is help many men take notice and see the light, at least to the limited extent that men are even able to appreciate their own predicament. And I think that this is an essential thing. Indeed, if Bill Burr didn’t exist, the MRM would need to invent him.
I listened to his articles on youtube and really liked them very much, specially that one titled “Bill Burr Hates The Marriage Laws”!! Besides the accuracy of his ideas, what most impressed me was the furious tone of his voice, that by itself depicted the outspoken nonconformism with social and political status of the modern man!! As you pointed out, he is a real MRA, “disguised” of humorist. Thank God there are valiant guys like Bill Burr (and many others), on the front line, who defy a whole totalitarian system, in order to fight back against those who want to slave us all!!
PS: your website is becoming better and better; congratulations again.
BIG fan of Bill Burr!
He’s a quality comedian and very apt where mens rights are concerned. He’s a mans man, and someone you could have a pint with and crack a few jokes. Love his passion for what he does, and what he has to say, and how he delivers. Quality bloke!
I am so glad to see a little humor added to equation. I am going to check his podcast right now!
Manwomanmyth,
Thank you for giving recognition to Bill Burr. As much good as self identified MRAs do, I agree with you that if there were no Bill Burr, he would have had to be invented. Part of his character as a comedian is the pose of uneducated everyday guy, and this especially makes his trenchant, laconic pro male points so effective, they just seem to come out of nowhere. He is a kind of MRA-savant.
He operates under the insane idea that men are human beings who deserve the same level of respect as women get. It is THIS ATTITUDE that should underlie all of our dealings with women or man hating men, and he embodies it so passionately, effortlessly and hilariously.
Thanks again. You are spot on.
I am including a few more audio and video clips:
A five minute stand up clip that gives a good idea of his feelings about men and women:

I just watched all the links and favorited them. I see exactly what he is doing and I think it is great! More of this please!
Hey Ben.
Here are some more:
You know how women justify their bad behavior by saying it is a reaction to things men do? Here is Bill’s way of doing the same to them, just for the sport of it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxAPVJxXOGE
Bill on how women have no problem with criminal behavior, as long as it’s directed at their boyfriends:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKkEowjdNa0&feature=related
Bill on the arrogance of women thinking they are qualified to define men:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv_s-i-ZxGw
And finally, this bit from his podcast where Bill explains the best strategy for dealing with female emotional manipulation. This one may be the best piece of advice about dealing verbally with women I have ever heard. (Please excuse the U.S. sports jargon.)

That’s all I have in my bookmarks, but if you search on youtube for Bill Burr and advice or women, you will find plenty more.

I’ve listened to and watched a lot of Bill’s stuff and he is truly excellent and sympathetic to men. He understands the mercenary biological agenda of most women and the socio-political/legal, morass, that has been created to keep men in our supposed, “place”.
If Bill appeared regularly on national television we’d see a sea-change in attitudes to feminism. It would collapse in a few weeks. The jobs of many politicians would be on the line because feminism is their lifeline. Those remaining would have to change their game.
It is important to put links to Bill’s vids whenever and wherever they are relevant to any online discussion, on Facebook, etc.
Outstanding! Can’t wait to watch those. I see a lot of all of the things you describe.
Quick example:
Just started my senior year of mechanical engineering. Long story short, I have a solid mechanics lab that involves heat treating metals, etc.
Instructor is an overweight lesbian who acts more manly than any man here. She wears muddy work boots with paint on them to teach class. She is a Ph.D. student.
Her girlfriend is a senior here. They are both hideously ugly.
This woman (if I can even call her a woman) makes an olympic sport out of humiliating her students. It is unreal. I am doing a video about her ASAP.
Here is what happened:
1. My torch kept going out during a lab experiment.
2. Her exact words: What IS your problem with that torch dude? I mean SERIOUSLY! What IS your problem?
Note: Unbeknownst to her and everyone else in that lab that day, I have years of experience with all types of welding and metal fabrication (highly uncommon for a college student).
3. I ignored her and tried to let it go.
4. She never would get off my case.
5. I finally had enough and said: I don’t have a problem using a torch. In fact I have no problem with TIG welding, MIG welding, STIK welding, custom building horse trailers, inverse welding pipe, and so on.
6. She cut me off by making the most belittling crying noises I have ever heard. You know, like “WYYYYAAAHHH WYYYYAH WYYYYYAH”
This happened Wednesday night. I was so outraged that I could have choke slammed that bitch.
More on this in an upcoming video. I think the emotional manipulation topic outlined by Burr will be applicable to this situation.
I really should have just calmly turned off the torch, looked her dead in the eye and in a calm voice said, “Are you bringing my manhood into question in front of all these people, including other professors of mine and my friends, by making crying noises at me? Are you implying that I am crying like a small child? If so, don’t you think that I should report this incident to the Dean?”
I could have then said, based on her reaction, “It is not too late to diffuse this conflict but belittling me is not the way to go about it. If I were you, I would be thinking of ways to smooth things over with me right now” and just stood there and said nothing more. No matter what she said after that, I would say nothing and would have no expression on my face.
I didn’t mean to get off topic, MWM, I just had been doing some more thinking about that issue.
I am really looking forward to more of your work. I have shaken off those attempts to silence me and should have more videos as soon as I get time. I can also send you some pictures from “Walk A Mile in Her Shoes” next month if you want. Thanks for all you do.
Good for you Ben. Would be great to see more of your work and please do send me any pics you take.
I will definitely do that. Every time I sit down to script a new video, I run out of time. Senior year is a crucible. I want to tear into the Dear Colleague issue, among many other things, in a video soon.
Great post MWM. I had never heard of this guy but now I will definitely be listening to him! Nice to see he’s getting the message across but with some humor.
Off topic: http://mashable.com/2012/02/21/facial-recognition-billboard/
Just thought you might want to see that.
Very useful link, thank you.
Female-centrism like this is an extremely serious problem that I will be looking at soon.
It’s as if men and boys simply don’t exist in third-world countries except as perpetrators of oppression against women. Only women and girls have any problems, whereas boys and men are living it up.
And what do we do? We buy the misandry and donate generously. Marvellous.
Sounds like Chris Rock, except better on the MRA part.
I am sure you have seen this, but to those who haven’t. Boys in Ireland can be prosecuted for having underage sex while girls cannot

Bill is absolutely great. He truly reprimands the unseen misandry today with his humor.
Another comedian who points out issues between men and women, at least in his taped show from November 2011, is Reginald D. Hunter. He’s aware of how inequitable relations can be between men, women, and the law. Really funny guy.
