The disaster is only 4 days old but the misandry has already started and look for it to become more obvious in the coming days and weeks.
The Abuse Industry, in the shape of myriad aid agencies are very quick to prioritise victims (women and children) and define potential perpetrators and undesirables (men). Most charities and news sources simply omit men as potential victims, men don’t exist in their fundraising efforts and nor do they exist as regards the spending of those funds.
As happened after the 2004 Tsunami, it’s becoming clear that the safety of women is our first, our last and our everything. Men are not mentioned or referred to except as potential abusers of helpless, wandering women and orphaned children.
Bad, bad men come out of the woodwork the instant disaster strikes

“Children are petrified and in danger,” said Gareth Owen, director of emergencies.
“This is not a safe place for children,” he said. “We know the prison has collapsed and lone youngsters are incredibly vulnerable.
“This catastrophe will only exacerbate the already critical situation for the people of Haiti, especially women and children.”
“The evacuees were selected by staff at the Canadian embassy, which remains functional despite sustaining damage in this week’s earthquake.
Priority in the repatriation effort was being given to injured people, women and children.”
“Workers fear kids face abuse and attacks in the capital Port-au-Prince” quoting Save the Children

Note the first picture in the screenshots above. The people who are, as I write this, risking their lives to save women and children, are almost exclusively men. Yet these men who are obviously men are never referred to as men. Instead they are workers, rescuers and emergency personnel – their sex is hidden and removed from the public’s conciousness. Why?
Men Don’t Exist

We are left with many questions but two will do:
Why do aid agencies fall-over themselves to single out women and children for relief efforts and to help extract donations from the public?
What is it about our manifest psychology that values women and children but has no concept of men and children?
