This page contains a compilation of my reviews of films and TV shows.
Reviews on this site are not full reviews of plot, content and quality as are found elsewhere. Instead, they are limited to identifying and analysing the degree of misandry and Feminist ideology they contain.
Definitions:
Misandry Elements – Data on individual aspects of misandry and/or Feminist ideology.
- Tough Women – This identifies the unfeasible female characters that Hollywood in particular seems hellbent on inserting into films, typically action films. They are not only tough, they are super-tough and typically tougher than most men in the film. They are virtually always shown to outdo, outperform or out-tough a man at some point in the action.
- Technical Women – The equivalent of tough women but in technical areas. These women are presented as technical geniuses who leave men floundering in their wake particularly in the field of computing.
- Worthless Women – This is the implausible situation where the love interest of the male hero is not a woman that any sensible man would generally regard as a good or worthwhile woman to pursue. In other words, a woman of low appeal to a man when it comes to a serious relationship (prostitute, unfaithful, deeply selfish, uncaring, drug addicted, violent, spiteful etc), and women with little to no redeeming qualities are miraculously portrayed as the apple of our hero’s eye. It counts as Hollywood’s valiant attempt to make the typical Feminist worthless woman, worthy of a man’s best efforts to woo, when the truth is that Western women have become largely toxic.
Man-Friendly? – My judgement as to what’s positive and negative about the portrayal of men in the film.
- Is the film good or harmful for the image of men and/or fair to men?
- Would a man with a sense of self-worth feel ok after watching this?
- Are men presented as disposable?
- Would I want to walk out of the film as a result of any of the misandric content?
Overall Misandry Rating
- Extreme - Off-the-chart misandry. Unadulterated male hatred that would constitute a hate crime if directed at any other group. Includes gratuitous sexual violence against men (e.g. Hostel 2 (penis cut off), Sin City (penis ripped off) – see Men are Disposable)
- Very High - In your face male hatred with little point but to sully and belittle men and manhood. Men and the deaths of men are of no value. Content that actively attacks men and the male image.
- High - High misandry content and male-unfriendly but there is worse out there. Represents a significant proportion of Hollywood films.
- Moderate – Your average Hollywood film. Misandry in is part of the film in the way lettuce, tomato, ketchup and cheese is a part of a cheeseburger.
- Low - Unusually little in the way anti-male content, but there is still some identifiable misandry.
- None – Phenomenally rare example of a film that either contains no anti-male content at all or else is perfectly balanced with female presentation. This means no premature ejaculations, no DV, no sexual abuse or rape, no groin strikes, no alcoholic abusive father back-stories etc

How about letting people submit their own reviews, thus highlighting the extend of misandry?
Well, people can comment of course and if someone wanted to send me a review for the site that would be great.
Oh man movie reviews for misandry are so needed, what a great idea
The list is HUGE, especially for the tough woman propaganda which is everywhere… my personal favorites are Girlfight (a feminist delusion put to film), Cutthroat Island, G.I. Jane (a horror), Salt (are you kidding me?), Starship Troopers, Battlestar Galactica Remake (show had good elements but a lot of manly woman crap), Golden Eye and actually all ‘modern’ James Bond Movies, and SOOO many more! I like Zokka’s idea of allowing people to submit their own reviews for your approval as this area is so huge.
Cheers. You’re right, it is a huge area for analysis and I think it’s very interesting. I’m also not aware of anywhere that does such reviews – please let me know if you have seen anything.
My inbox awaits people’s reviews and I deal with the “tough women” theme in the Films on Misogyny due soon.
Gent,
FYI.
Regards Edmond.

Thanks a lot for this. Looks like he has stopped updating it. What a shame. I just looked at one review for “Anchorman” and I like his angle on the issues and his style of writing.
I do not blame him for stopping the the site, there is only so much of films I can see before I feel the bile rise in my throat.
Dear mwm,
I have a large number of men-positive films on file to share, if you open a Dropbox (2Gb Free) account, I can give you access to the films, so we can have more of your reviews.
Most of the films are old, as the new ones are just rubbish.
For security reasons, you can make up a new e-mail account.
Regards Edmond.
Hi, I have a lot of films I’m already considering but time, as always, is the issue. Let me be in touch when I am ready for your files. Thanks.

Why does it seem that every male actor born after 1980 has no balls? #1
It’s like they’ve all been pussified. I don’t get it. Some of them are nearing 30 years old.
I can’t think of a single one that can beat Ripley. And she was a woman!
Where’s our generation’s Schwarzeneggers? Stallones? And to a lesser extent, Van Dam and Segals? Bruce Lee? Heck, even Bruce Willis. Clint Eastwood? Jackie Chan? Jet Li? Bronson? People that actually look like they could beat you in a fight in their prime.
Instead we get people like Shia LaBeouf.
No more action heroes. It’s sad.
Is there anything I’m missing?
Yes, I have noticed the same thing… so many of the younger generation of actors are these milquetoast types. well, there are a few tou8gh ones left; you Brits gave us Jason Stethham, thank you very much. It’s funny to say but absolutely true that the toughest guy in Hollywood, is 80-year Clint Eastwood. He talks about the “pussyfication” of modern men all the time, not only in interviews, but indirectly in his films, such as “Grand Torino.” The actors of the past were real men and unashamed of it; people like Charles Bronson (WWII combat veteran, USAF), Lee Marvin (USMC combat vet, WWII), David Niven (British Royal Army, combat veteran WWII), Jimmy Stewart (USAA, combat veteran WWII, Korea, Cold War, and so many more. They were also patriots, who loved their respective nations. Today’s crop, for the most part, seem like little boys in comparison. Manhood is not the only criterion for attaining manhood; my point is merely to compare the men of yesteryear’s movies with the near-do-wells of todays. What worries me the most is that we are educating (perhaps indoctrinating would be a better word) on-coming generations of young men that it is OK – indeed “enlightened and progressive” – to send our women to war in their place. That speaks volumes to me of how sick our cultures have become, vis-a-vis manhood and in general terms. No civilized nation that wishes to survive and thrive, sends its women to war in place of its men. Well, if we western nations have grown too feminized, and lacking in basic testosterone to do the job of running things, I’m sure the Chinese or all those angry Muslim young men would love a crack at it. Pardon my rant; I’m just sick of all that’s being said and done that is so contrary to common sense and our well-being as a civilization.
I haven’t checked in a while… at least the Aussies are still men, right?
Edmond, re: “Where’s our generation’s Schwarzeneggers? Stallones? And to a lesser extent, Van Dam and Segals? Bruce Lee? Heck, even Bruce Willis. Clint Eastwood? Jackie Chan? Jet Li? Bronson? People that actually look like they could beat you in a fight in their prime.” Bronson was a tough MF, even in real life. Segal should not be ranked in the second tier of fighters; he is one bad dude in real life, and one of the very few westerners to hold a senior level dan (degree) of black belt in aikido. His fighting skills are real, as opposed to faked as so many action stars fights are. Van Damm was a European karate champion, so I would not dismiss him, either. Bruce Lee – pound for pound, one of the best fighters of all time and justifiably a legend. Same with Jet Li.
The whole website is excellent and much-needed; the same is true of your film reviews. As a scientist and historian, I am constantly seeing cable TV and film depictions of these “super women” who look like models, have the IQ of Einstein and fight like the toughest soldier or martial artist. Pleased to see some of you have already mentioned “GI Jane,” which is quite probably the most preposterous film ever made about women and military service – but let me add another one ” “Courage Under Fire,” a fictional Denzel Washington – Meg Ryan vehicle which imagines the first female Medal of Honor recipient. Ryan plays a female officer, whose helicopter is shot down in GW I, and she and her crew – all men – have to survive overnight under fire in enemy territory. Of course, Ryan’s character is this rock of resolve and steely determination; the men – losers, weaklings and drug addicts all. This is the sort of thing we Yanks have to put up with from the idiotic leftists in Hollywood.
Sadly, the political correctness has reached full-torque here in the USA, concerning matters military. It is now not only feminists with which we have to be concerned, but homosexuals. I asked a U.S. Marine combat veteran of Vietnam what he thought concerning the overturning of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT), and his response was – let’s just say – quite salty!
Re: The film “Aliens”: This film is an excelent sci-fi action adventure film, but it is as responsible as any for the explosion of macho female characters who fight better and are smarter than men.
Again, many thanks for the website…
Thanks for your comment. I look at the false depictions of women from Hollywood in Misandry – Misogyny 1.
I too noted how the film “Aliens” was a primer for unfeasibly tough female characters. A clip or two from that movie is in the film.
MWM, re: “women who fight like men”…I am in my forties, and have been a martial artist for many years now. I have never seen a female fighter of any age or skilled level (even the most fit and technically-proficient young women) beat a male fighter over the age of 12. Never, not once. Moreover, it hasn’t even been close. In fact, our martial arts club has trouble attracting and retaining female students, because the physical training and fighting is simply too tough for them. That is true, even when the guys pull their punches a little. There’s more… few women possess the spatial visual skills to fight as well as men. My particular martial art demands 3D spatial reasoning ability to master, and most women do not possess it. They also lack the pain threshold to do the techniques. One young woman, upon seeing a fake knife, used for knife disarming techniques, burst into tears and hasn’t been seen since.
I would really like to see some more reviews if you have time, these are great
Cheers. It is about a lack of time. Will do more soon.
@Georgiaboy the aussies have the same problem as the rest of the western world, we are all P.C controlled
What annoys me about all these “tough girl” movie roles is, we are supposed to believe that women can beat up men, but at the same time, in the real world women reserve the right to to hit men, since, in their view, men are much bigger than they are. Basically, they’re tougher than men when it suits them, but they’re also victims when it suits them. They want it every way. If any woman can beat me up, why is it okay for her to be a bully? I can beat up a lot of women, but I obviously don’t think this is something to brag about! The vast majority of men are the same. Women, however, seem generally to think that it’s a good thing to beat up a “mere” man.
Interesting. I like such reviews. Hollywood is prolefeed though, fantasy crap.. Hence why I rarely watch films.. I Think we need to review MORE than just films, what about “Soaps” such as “Coronation Street” where every man has to grovel to “she who must be obeyed” and women are often seen humiliating men, who “take it on the chin” because, of course, thats what the social engineers who use the soaps to brainwash the proles want folk to behave like..
I think we need to review entities within the mens movement along similar lines as well!
I have a “bad habit” of occasionally reviewing MRM forums and activist groups based on how much they really “take the mans side”, especially when they allow women to partake as well..
As a result of this, I am banned from practically all of them!
It is surprising, but “pro-woman” attitudes exist within the Mens Rights Movement in a similar way to what exists in wider society..
One of the most clear cut examples of this I remember from my days in F4J.
Male and female members could access a forum for discussion, but you had to be careful what you said if you were male, because the ladies would point out that “fathers 4 justice is not a fathers group, it is an equal parenting group” or similar statements.. And men would in the main support them in such statements..
But, the women had their own private forum as well, which is great eh? Or it would be if men could have a private area too.. But, obviously that was not acceptable.. Why? Because it seems that men are happy with this double standard.. I was banned for pointing out this.. A so called “fathers group” having a private “females only” forum.. Whatever next???
I often think the first and foremost unspoken rule of the online “mens” forums is “prove to the world that we are not misogynists, above all else..”.. Yet, even though they will routinely censor and ban men who “upset the lady members, who we NEED..” .. They spectacularly fail to irradicate charges of “misogyny” because they blame everything they dont like on “the failure of women to act like men would” in effect..
Maybe I am odd, but I don’t think it is “misogynist” to say, for example, that “women are generally financially parasitic upon men..” But I do think its misogynist to say that “women should not be financially parasitic on men”..
Why? Because its unreasonable to expect women NOT to be financially parasitic.. They simply cant earn the same amount of money, for a number of quite valid reasons, without “equality” laws and other support etc..
Another great inequality that seems common in the Mens Forums is “sex talk”.. Many of the women who are welcomed on the forums speak freely about their sex lives and often, its pretty damned “perverse” by any standards..
Yet, should a man dare to boast about how he “dominates and enslaves” the opposite sex or whatever.. Well, he will soon have a boot up his arse..
The double standards don’t dissapear even in groups that claim to want them to dissapear, it seems!!
Mind you, I never rated “equality” as a remotely reasonable aim of the mens or fathers movement anyway..
I would no more want to be “equal” to a woman than I would want to be “equal” to a 3 year old child..
I think many women seem to want to be equal to a man AND a 3 year old child though..
They do better aiming for the 3 year old, after all, no one expects a 3 year old to accept responsibility..
It’s the male condition again. Most men have no sense of self and so everything is about how other groups feel. Men also have accepted the Feminist narrative as regards what counts as misogyny: “anything that could conceivably upset a woman, especially when it’s demonstrably true”.
As I’ve said, I am exploring the idea of how women ARE vital to the issue of men’s rights and family rights, but not in the sense that we need female supporters in groups like f4j or on forums etc, but rather that we need to harness female opinion, whether they understand or care about the issues or not. This is a different objective and is very interesting to me.
Excellent site! I’m an anti-feminist since I was about six and I used to think that no one saw the oppression to man. Now I find this site addressing a lot of issues
. I have a suggestion about a man friendly film: Misery (it’s based on a Stephen King movie). It shows a very violent and possessive woman stalking and abusing a man. It’s a very realistic depiction.
Male-bashing is everywhere- movies, tv shows, print and electronic media, including ads & commericals.
I recently watched the mini series ‘Pillars of the Earth’. Overall a decent enough show but it did contain some overt feminism. One, a son and daughter escape when their father is captured, the daughter is displayed as having steel-like nerves and aggression while the son is shown as a sniveling coward completely dependant on her for even the slightest decision… later, an older mother is shown to kill two men with her bare hands! The first one she holds down and smothers to death while blood-letting a sick (but said to be recovering) man who is not bound in any way but can’t stop her and dies in like 5 seconds. The second is a man who she instantly overpowers and flings over a railing as if the man were nothing but a speck of dust. There are other examples as well. The executive producer for this is none other than Ridley Scott and Tony Scott. Mr. feminist Ridley Scott has a profound and disturbing fetish for turning women into men, so I am not surprised to see this stuff injected into what is otherwise a good show.
Here is a commercial for Claratin that is airing on cable now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfvaTwdLSgs
I especially love the scene where the man struggles on the bridge and then says to the lady leader
“I couldn’t do this without you.” She then grabs his hand and pulls the out of breath man over to her.
This kind of stuff is obviously NOT by accident or the consequence of a ‘it just so happens to be written as’… the MANY examples of male humilation and sex role reversal in company commercials clearly shows an orchestrated effort, and we now know despite decades of denial that heads of industry (and media) do in fact meet once every year behind closed doors.
I don’t understand what’s wrong with tough or technical women in films. Films are fantasy. The physical and technical capabilities of men are exaggerated as well.
There’s a difference between fantasy and propaganda. Today’s Hollywood is largely a political propaganda machine which is why every film seems to have the same scenes. It’s so bad in some cases it’s like they just cut and pasted entire chapters from one movie to the next. If it was just fantasy there would be all kinds of different messages and views. As anyone who follows this stuff knows feminism and Hollywood are synonymous.
Last night I decided to watch one of my older movies: The Negotiator. But this time, I watched it knowing about today’s misandry in the West and I noticed that there isn’t the usual female privilege prevalent in so much of today’s media. The women show unwavering commitment for their families, especially their husbands. At one point, some men and a woman are taken hostage and when one of the men suggests to the hostage taker to release the woman only because she’s a woman, she retorts with something like “Don’t say I should be let go because I’m a woman. I hate that crap.”
These notes aside, I recommend The Negotiator. It’s a good mix of action, drama, and Samuel L. Jackson cussing like a hero.
P.S. I guess it’s no surprise that some MRAs would criticize you for being married because you can expect some members of large groups to be more extreme. But you’re clearly not anti-women. I, for one, am glad that you married a woman who complements you. That’s an incredible accomplishment.
The point is that she reacts as if she is a victim of preferential treatment.
In other words she only percieves her privelige of being released because she’s a woman as something she hates, as something that impacts on her alone. It is something that is wrong only in terms of her not liking it, not in terms of how it affects the men.
So, we can send reviews for the site? That’d be fantastic, as I feel compelled to write a review of “The Proposal” after seeing your material.
I agree, the material out there is endless… for the ridiculous tough girl category we have a avalanche of crud starting with ‘Salt’ then ‘Hanna’ now ‘Columbiana’…we super chic scenes absurdly put into movies like ‘Capt America’ and the upcoming movie the ‘Debt’. The feminist propaganda Hollywood puts forth is unbelievable.
You can add the movies “Haywire” and “Killer Elite” to the ever growing list
Manwomanmyth, just wondering, what do you think of the film Fight Club?
Don’t remember it, really. May watch it again one day.
Do you watch any movies? just asking because there ain’t any ‘good’ movies nowadays. ‘Good’ in the sense no anti male stuffs.
There are still some good films in the sense of not being very misandric. In fact, I think that there has been a small reaction against misandry in Hollywood because there have been quite a few recent films with next to no misandry at all.
Source Code, Super 8, The Adjustment Bureau, Shutter Island.
Super 8 in particular is a revelation and I’ll do a review on it soon.
have you seen the Harry Potter series (I ask because it is probably the most popular movie series around). Do you think there is any misandry in those? (I personally can only really think of one example in it and that’s it). What about other popular movies series like Star Wars or Indiana Jones?
Liked Harry Potter. Was never aware of a problem with the film series or the books.
The last Indiana Jones had misandry to do with his status as a father. Star Wars I never really watched through.
what do you think about the movie Titanic? Which was once the highest grossing film of all time? Personally I think that film had the potential to be very misandric but luckily didn’t go that route
Super 8 was written by J.J. Abrams 30 years ago, maybe that’s the reason there is no misandry.
It’s not just no misandry in that film, it’s anti-misandry. Very significant.
I hope you decide to do more movie comments. Maybe if not full reviews but just paragraphs pointing out any sort of misandry or girl power moments in movies. I think it is interesting because movies are probably the most popular entertainment source and I think it is significant to see how men are treated. I personally think there are quite a few movies in the last decade that actually treat men pretty fairly. Probably because studios don’t want to risk alienating male audiences and lose money.
some examples (that you may or may not have seen)
Gladiator
A Beautiful Mind
Spider-Man 1 and 2
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (though it does have a stupid girl power moment, I’m willing to overlook it)
The Harry Potter films (interesting because the books were written by a woman)
The Narnia films
The first Pirates of the Caribbean (though it does have a woman slapping a man, it’s easy to overlook)
Star Trek (2009)
Tron Legacy
The Social Network (about the founders of Facebook, feminists complained about this, saying it was “misogynistic”)
True Grit (2010)
Up (2009)
Toy Story 3 (feminist said this movie was “sexist”)
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
Inception
The Last Samurai
The Karate Kid (2010)
and many more. Hopefully this continues.
s few more (sorry for rambling on, but movies are something that interests me)
The Sixth Sense
The Sum of All Fears
Finding Nemo
Master and Commander
Iron Man (the first one, the second has stupid feminist/tough girl moments)
The King’s Speech
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
feminists complain about Adventures of Tin Tin movie because it has an all male cast.
http://margotmagowan.wordpress.com/2011/12/30/creator-of-tintins-disturbing-thoughts-on-women/
Is there anything feminists won’t complain about? Not everything needs to be made catering to feminists.
