Film Review: The Next Three Days 2010
Posted on June 27, 2011 | 23 CommentsMake no mistake, there are the green shoots of change in the movie industry as regards the portrayal of criminals and, more importantly, the portrayal of men. It’s not yet anywhere near a level where I could breath a sigh of relief and think: “my work here is done” and quit the whole spot-the-misandry-in-film vocation, but I’m glad of it none-the-less. -
Film Review: The American (2010)
Posted on January 28, 2011 | 1 CommentThe American (2010) is an unusual film, at least from the standpoint of yours truly who is intent on analysing misandry in film and the portrayal of men pumped out from Hollywood (I don’t think this is a Hollywood produced film, btw). As far as misandry goes, this film scores low on the scale. Although men in the film are as expendable as they are in any other thriller, so are the women, although to a lesser extent (naturally). -
