WOT: Web of Trust or Web of Deceit?

It has been brought to my attention on more than one occasion that this very website – manwomanmyth.com – has been given a “dangerous” rating by the site advisor WOT: Web of Trust.

At the same time, Google does NOT rate this site as dangerous or malicious. It has no warning in search results that “This website may harm your computer”.

At the same time, McAfee Site Advisor does NOT rate this site as dangerous or malicious and gives a nice clean bill of health (image also below).

So, what’s going on? Why the false, deceitful and malicious bad “reputation” rating from WOT?

When I first knew of this inaccurate rating some months ago, there were only a few votes (or whatever they’re called over there), maybe 9 or so. Now there are 69 according to the numbers in the “WOT Reputation Scorecard”.

This site doesn’t have a very high profile and visitors number in the low hundreds per day compared with the (deservedly) huge profile of some others, and so I looked at the ratings given to some of these other much more popular men’s issues sites:

• Angry Harry – pretty much all good
• A Voice for Men – extremely good
• The Spearhead – pretty much all good
• The Antifeminist – no rating
• The Elusive Wapiti – all good
• The Hawaiian Libertarian – all good
• Misandry Review – no rating
• Antimisandry – all good

We can see from this selection that the anti-misandry, anti-Feminist nature of the content of this site is probably not strictly the issue. So there must be something else going on.

Looking again at the WOT rating for this site…

1. I don’t sell anything and so the low Vendor reliability is not applicable.
2. Nothing I say is untrue and so the low Trustworthiness rating is a bit silly.
3. This site may ask to place cookies and there are the standard stats programs, but this is normal for blogs and there is no user tracking beyond this site and so the low Privacy rating is nonsensical.
4. There is nothing here that could in a million years be detrimental for Child Safety. On the contrary, the material I present is largely about increasing child safety, in part by exposing the negative activities of parasitic organisations like the NSPCC that actually lead to an increase in child endangerment. The child safety rating might have some validity in terms of the appropriate age for those viewing the videos and I have noted this against each film. But a rating so low is pure malicious fantasy on the part of WOT. It is a classic approach from Feminists to attempt to subvert and bury legitimate discussion of their toxic religion under the guise of child safety: its for the children. Yeah, right.

What I think we are clearly dealing with here is censorship by another name. It is an excellent means of shutting down views contrary to those of Feminists whilst not appearing to do so. Rather than deal with the fact that it is a site against misandry and one that exposes the toxicity of Feminism; and rather than genuinely rate the site for casual browsers or concerned parents, Feminists are instead attempting misdirection by claiming the site to be somehow dangerous for people’s computers and worse, somehow dangerous for children. Under the guise of helping, they successfully hinder.

It seems that it’s only my fairly new, fairly low-profile website that’s singled out for this special negative attention. What is different about the content of this website compared to the others?

There is only one main difference I can discern: this site is a video repository of material analysing and exposing misandry and Feminism. I include age ratings, I almost entirely avoid bad language, there is no hate speech and the documentary films are of a decent standard; the best that I could make them with the available resources. I am careful with website security and I am pro-active in the prevention of spamming and the insertion of malicious code. There is no reason to classify anything on this site as being negative for children or dangerous for anyone’s computer. It is only dangerous to the hate crime of Feminism and only negative for those that support Feminism.

The clincher might be that, as it is mainly video and not solely text, it is perhaps more accessible to more people in the longer term. Perhaps the documentary film content here is a bigger threat to the various facets of Feminist than your typical men’s issue website. This may be wishful thinking on my part or just plain incorrect analysis, but it is much more a struggle to understand an odd state of affairs than it is self-aggrandising. When in doubt, I tend be positive.

So, I will take from the inexplicable assault via the Web of Trust, that manwomamyth.com is regarded as particularly dangerous to Feminism and particularly effective in fighting misandry and that is why there are people out there attempting to disrupt it and prevent people from ever even visiting these pages, let alone viewing the documentary video.

One commenter here has said that he would normally have avoided this site because of the WOT warnings and only clicked through because he had already seen some of the videos on the ManWomanMyth YouTube channel. Many other people would have no knowledge of the genuine content and would probably trust (oh, the irony!) the negative rating they were given. So we can count the WOT efforts as being fairly effective, a useful tool for Feminists and other censors to ensure that the content of this site is buried under false fears. WOT is a popular site advisor and so it’s impact will not be negligible.

Regardless of this active attempt to attack this site and the video repository it contains, I am not overly concerned. The material will stay up indefinitely to be seen by anyone brave enough to ignore Web of Trust and see that advisory site it for what it is in this case: a Web of Treachery, a Web of Feminism and a Web of Deceit.
